Pantone just released their Spring 2014 Color Report. It includes a lot of the colors we have been seeing in fashion and I love how Pantone is the go-to for color for anything – fashion, home goods and yes, paper. This collection has a lot of harmony. Bright colors balanced by pastels and anchored with neutrals. What’s not to love? There is a color palette for anyone within this spectrum. These colors can stand alone and blend together.
I love how some of these pastels, like the patina of Hemlock, are almost neutrals in and of themselves. Even the neutrals of Paloma (another word for dove) and Sand can be built as a primary color palette. That orange in Celosia is back much like the Tangerine Tango from a couple of years ago. I can see a lot of spring weddings using these shades and we have many of them in our new wedding invitations suite collection. So, what do you think? Which are your favorites? Did Pantone get it right for Spring 2014?
