real wedding: becky + nick

Becky and I met at the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show last fall. We connected when she was inspired by our Nashville skyline invitation and wanted to incorporate that style into her wedding invitation design. We met and soon discovered that we both have a love for animals (she’s a Veterinarian!), both have Yorkies and both love Nashville. She also was using the same wedding planning group that I used.

Becky described her wedding as: rustic, chic, vintage, soft, personal and “Nashville”. A beautiful setting for a blush pink, charcoal gray, soft gray and warm white wedding color scheme. As she described the decor, colors and cake she is having designed, I began to think that a concert style poster we had in mind may not be the best fit and we both settled on the cake as inspiration.

This cake was designed by Renay from Sweetface Cakes. She is a true artisan. Renay had provided Becky with a hand-drawn sketch of the idea and we went from there. Here is what we came up with!

It’s simple, chic, modern and rustic at the same time, and I really love how it mimicked the baubles and writing on the cake. It’s hard to tell from the image, but this was printed on a beautiful shimmer, metallic white card stock.

We paired the invitation with 3 enclosures: a response card, reception card and 2-sided information card with a map, all slid in a white linen top open envelope.

Her programs were also very special. A tri-fold program with little bride, groom, bridesmaid and groomsmen icons listed the bridal party and coordinated with her other paper details.

Becky also opted to use place cards, table numbers, menus signs and favor tags.

So, want to know where she pulled in the Nashville skyline? A Crash invitation! When you want an intimate wedding (i.e. friends and family), everyone has those guests that they want to invite, but can’t. They’re co-workers or acquaintances; distance family members or neighbors. They, the guests, understand it’s a small affair, but that doesn’t mean they can’t come and dance, according to Becky!
