friday feed: ice cream crankin’

Usually I post a recipe for Friday Feed, but today I am promoting (unsolicited I might add) an event that I’ll be a part of this Sunday: Purity Dairy’s Ms. Martha’s Ice Cream Crankin’. I’ll be a part of the Next Nashville team. We’re entering the contest to have our ice cream recipe produced by Purity for a year, with the proceeds going to the Martha O’Bryan Center. Stay tuned for the recipe we created – it’s super good and I think Purity will love it! You can follow the journey on Instagram.

If you are a local foodie, then this event is for you. Imagine tasting hundreds of varieties of homemade ice cream – champagne and strawberries, banana pudding, lavender and honey – in every flavor you can possibly dream up.

The winning entry will be an official Purity flavor and sold in stores for the following year. The all-you-can-taste, family-friendly event is sponsored by Purity Dairies and benefits the Martha O’Bryan Center, which transforms families and children living in poverty in Nashville through education. They’ve sent 99 kids to college just this past year, helping them make the grade and secure scholarship to break the line between poverty and a wealth of opportunity.

Plus, they’ll have celebrity judges!

Sunday, June 9 from 3-5 pm
at First Presbyterian Church
4815 Franklin Pike Nashville, TN

Tasting tickets to the event are just $13 for adults and $10 for kids and proceeds go to a good cause. Tickets will be available at the gate. More information here about Miss Martha’s Crankin’ here.
